Join Us for a No Tie Concert!

The No Tie concert series is all about top-tier music and great fun. While the quality remains uncompromised, we’ll explore classical works from new angles—sometimes in unexpected venues.
The Philharmonix—also known as The Vienna Berlin Music Club—are a seven-piece ensemble featuring musicians from the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras. They’ll launch the series on 7 September at Divadlo X10 with their own takes on Humoresque and Ravel’s La Valse. The rest? It’s up to the moment’s mood—both theirs and yours! As they say, “The mind must rejoice, the heart must sing, and the foot must tap.”
If anyone truly masters the art of humor in music, it’s Igudesman & Joo. For our festival, they’ve crafted Sound New World, where Dvořák’s New World Symphony becomes a springboard for an unpredictable mix of (not only musical) gags and surprises. Get ready for an evening of laughter on 11 September at Rudolfinum.
On 17 September at the Anežský Klášter, two cello masters—Jens Peter Maintz and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt—will duel with bows and strings in Cello Duello, bringing to life works by Haydn, Paganini, and Offenbach.
Mozart with Cuban rhythms? Yes, please! Sarah Willis, horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic, presents her celebrated Mozart y Mambo project with the Havana Lyceum Orchestra and conductor José Antonio Méndez Padrón. Join us on 18 September at New Spiral for an electrifying fusion of Mozart’s horn classics and irresistible Cuban beats.
The No Tie series wraps up with Bach Meets Bolling on 22 September at Divadlo X10. Cellist Jiří Bárta and pianist Terezie Fialová, joined by special guests, will take us on a journey where Bach’s counterpoint meets jazz’s free-flowing energy. By the finale, you just might find yourself tapping along!
